Grace Is When We Say Yes From: 'Trying to be Human
It seems to me that grace is nothing more than letting go
completely. When an opportunity arises to let go of conditioning
and be with what is going on in the present moment, and we
accept that opportunity with no resistance, the whole world opens
up in front of us, like the parting of the Red Sea. Obstacles
disappear; suddenly there's enough time, there's money, there's
energy, people are agreeable, things fall into place. Life feels
magical. God is not only on our side but holding our hand and smiling
on everything we attempt to do. It's just yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
But when we look closely, the experience of being completely present
is no different from any other, except that while the rest of life is
saying yes, for a change we are not saying no. For that little period
of time, what we are getting and what we want are the same.
That may sound passive, as if life is just happening, but when we are
in the experience, it doesn't feel passive at all. It's exciting; there is
a sense of eager participation. We are open and available. So, to say
that what we want and what we get arc the same simply means that
we are saying yes to what is..
